To make your spells work, you must be able to see the desired outcome. Put yourself in the picture and see in detail. Smell things, see colors, taste things. See yourself interacting in the successful situation. Engage your senses.
A wishy-washy attitude will not bring success. Don't approach spell-work thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have this…. but But I'm too ugly, but I'm a looser, but I'm not wanted, but I don't have the skill, but where will it come from, but I'm from the wrong family. For your magic to work, you must remove any but I'm attached to the outcome. When you do magic, you work backwards. From the future outcome to the present moment. From then to now. You live then, NOW. You bring the future into the present moment and live it in your imagination. Incense, oils, colors, words, actions are all ingredients that heighten the senses to prepare the mind to communicate the desire through imagery to the subconscious and ultimately to the super conscious for fulfillment. The act of imaging is the real magical work. This is the ingredient that is most readily available and is the hardest to produce. If your spell calls for an herb or oil that you can't find, leave it out or substitute it. External preparations are a wind up for the real work, which is done solely in the mind. True magic is internal. For your spells to work, you must also be clear about what you want, and why you want it. If you are not sure whether you want something, don't work a spell. Mixed messages confuse the universe. In the best-case scenario, your spell won't work and you will draw a blank. But more often than not, you will draw your fears. A good example of a mixed message is doing a spell to attract money to pay your bills, but thinking only about the bills you have. If you think about debt, you will attract debt. If you do a spell to attract money, have images of money in your mind. See the money you want to have. Feel it, touch it. Visualize the figures listed in your bank statement. See the date next to it. Feel how you would feel to be rich? How would you be living? What would you be eating? What would you be driving? What would your attitude be? If you are not sure what it is you want, spend time journaling the issue, until your voice is clear. Doing magic casually, without clarity will attract negative energy to you. The magician is not one who randomly does spells to satisfy every fancy, but one who strives to communicate with The Universe through understanding cosmic law, and uses magical language and tools to attain self-mastery.
